Why Squarespace is the Best Website Platform for Business Owners (and Why I’ll Die on This Hill)

Here’s the thing: most business owners don’t want to spend their lives tinkering with code or managing six different platforms just to sell a product, book a client, or send an email. If you’re anything like me (and most of my clients), you just want your website to work. You want to make updates without having to call a developer, and you want all your tools to play nicely together.

That’s why I am unapologetically a Squarespace stan. And with their latest refresh, I’m more convinced than ever that it’s the best platform for business owners.

Let’s break down why.

1. Easy Website Management & Handover

One of my favorite parts about building in Squarespace is how easy it is to hand off to the business owner. I can set up a beautiful, strategic, fully functioning website, and then you — yes, YOU — can log in and actually manage it without breaking into a sweat.

Want to swap out photos, update copy, add a new product, or publish a blog post? You don’t need to know code, you don’t need to call a developer, and you don’t need to spend an hour Googling “how do I edit text on my website??” It’s drag, drop, click, done.

This means once your site is live, you’re not tied to me (or anyone else) for every little change. Thats freedom, baby!

2. The Latest Squarespace Refresh (New Features You’ll Love)

Squarespace recently rolled out a big refresh, and let me tell you, it’s a game changer. A few highlights:

  • Fluid Engine updates: their drag-and-drop editor is now even more flexible and customizable. Your site can look super polished without being a template clone.

  • New analytics dashboards: it’s easier than ever to see what’s working, where your traffic comes from, and what pages are converting.

  • Better mobile optimization tools: you can fine-tune layouts so your site looks just as good on a phone as it does on desktop.

  • Improved SEO settings: no more guessing — Squarespace now walks you through optimizing page titles, meta descriptions, and alt text.

Basically: all the tools business owners need to look pro and show up in search, without needing a tech degree.

3. Built-In Integrations (So You Don’t Need 27 Subscriptions)

This is one of the biggest reasons I recommend Squarespace. So many platforms require you to piece together third-party apps, plugins, or paid add-ons just to function. With Squarespace, you’ve got a whole toolbox already included:

  • Acuity Scheduling (now Squarespace Scheduling): perfect for booking calls, appointments, and classes. Your clients can book directly on your site.

  • E-commerce: built-in shopping cart, product pages, inventory management, digital downloads, shipping integrations — all native.

  • Invoices & payments: you can create branded invoices, accept payments, and manage client billing straight from Squarespace.

  • Email marketing: no need for Mailchimp if you don’t want it. You can send branded campaigns directly from your site, with your contacts syncing automatically.

  • Memberships & courses: sell memberships, subscriptions, or gated content — all in-platform.

  • Blogging tools: easy to publish posts (like this one 👋), optimize them for SEO, and share directly to socials.

It’s basically an all-in-one business hub. Less juggling logins, more time running your actual business.

4. Customer Support That Actually Shows Up

Squarespace’s customer support is chef’s kiss. 24/7 chat and email support, plus a massive library of help guides and tutorials. And unlike a lot of platforms, their support is actually… helpful.

Your Website Should Work for YOU

At the end of the day, your website should support your business — not be another headache to manage. Squarespace is built with the business owner in mind. Clean design, powerful features, and everything under one roof.

Pro tip: Don’t get caught up thinking you need to chase the fanciest, most complicated platform. What you need is a site that you can update easily, that connects your tools, and that’s ready to help you make sales and book clients. That’s why I build in Squarespace, and why I’ll keep recommending it to every business owner I meet.
